Some people walk into your life and quietly make it better.
These are the people in my life who deserve to be seen.
Not just by me, but by anyone reading this.
This series is my way of saying thank you.
Not loudly. Just honestly.

Friend. Listener. Someone who shows up always.
DOB: 15-Dec-1998

The guy who said ‘Hii’ and is running around for no reason — yes, that’s him.

We’ve been friends since we were too young to even choose our friends.
And it just stayed that way.
Same school since standard 1, same city.
And now we’re flatmates, because why not just continue the streak.

That’s not common. That’s rare

He’s the friend I’ve known the longest.
From childhood till now he’s just always been there.

He’s not just a friend anymore, he’s family.
Even my parents see him that way.
They ask about him like he’s one of us.

He shows up for everyone, not just me.
That’s just how he is.

He helps without making it feel like a favour.
If you’re stuck, he’s there. If you’re doing something wrong, he’ll tell you, simple as that.
And that’s something I really value.

He’s really good at communicating. And his English is so fluent, I always act like I got what he said.

He’s basically the masterchef of our flat.
He knows how to cook and is always trying out different dishes.

I swear he can cook. This was just unfortunate timing 🙃

He’s also pretty good at singing.
Not something he shows off, but he can actually sing well.

I swear he sings better than this. He wasn’t well that day 🙃

And if that wasn’t enough, he’s the chess master of our group.

That means he’s better than roughly 96% of players on the platform!!!

Also he’s really into sports
and if there’s one he knows inside out, it’s cricket.
From players to matches to random stats,
he somehow knows everything.

This was all about him…

Some people are just easy to take for granted, because they’ve always been there.
Abhishek is that person for me. And I think that’s exactly why I wanted to write this.
Not because he asked for it. Not because he needs the recognition.
But because people like him deserve to be seen.
He’s the friend, the brother, the flatmate, the chess master all in one.
And I’m just glad I was too young to choose my friends wisely.
Because I couldn’t have chosen better.

A Small Secret —

The people I write about in this series have no idea this exists.
I’m not going to tell them either.
I just hope one day they randomly land here and find out exactly how much they mean to me.
