We Grow To Love What Once Made Us Flinch
This series is about my thoughts.
A quote, a line, something that made me stop and think.
Written exactly how Iβd write it in my diary.
No filter. Just honest.
We Grow To Love What Once Made Us Flinch
Flinch β Pulling back from something because it feels too hard, too scary, or too uncomfortable to face.
Whenever I read this quote.
I think of my first sip of coffee
Bitter, sharp, almost too much to handle.
Now I canβt begin my day without it.
And so it is with everything else too.
The hard mornings, the risks we avoided.
The conversations we were too scared to have.
The pain we kept pushing away from us.
The nights we ran from instead of sitting with.
The heartbreaks we tried so hard to avoid.
The loneliness we didnβt know how to sit with.
The jobs we hesitated to even apply for.
The paths fear told us not to take.
We couldnβt see it, but this was growth.
That is how growth quietly works on us.
What unsettles you today is shaping you.
Discomfort is rarely a warning, itβs a lesson.
The things that once scared us the most,
Taught us to stand taller, think deeper.
To live a little more honestly each day.
So let things happen, even the hard ones.
You may not like them right now.
But someday, you might be grateful you stayed.
So,
What made you flinch once, made you braver, deeper and whole.
